I believe they tried, but honestly he is probably more useful to them alive.
To quote Pezeshkian himself: “Do you know why they assassinate our capable individuals? So that weak people like me remain and cannot serve the people, and the enemy can then tell the public: ‘You see, they are incapable.’”




If they can't get him, if he has left the country, it's at least fair game to blow up all of his things. Give him nothing but a hole in the ground to return to if he ever comes back. It's where he belongs.
