I'd argue that Elon and pals had their sticky fingers in that too.
I'm sure some of it was racism, but by and large, a lot of people were frustrated with rising costs, plunging services and really murky futures. Then some absolute con men got together and told them the problem was the EU and that by leaving things would be better.
The desperate will buy anything if it looks like an answer.
I swear if these guys don't figure it out by 2036 Luigi just gonna be another one of the power rangers.
