I don't think I'd buy a device with no buttons I mean it could work fine UI wise but what do you do if an app freezes.

This is a big reason why I wish things had removable batteries, and I really don't want to buy anything without a hardware force shutdown process. Thankfully laptops have it, but I don't think phones do anymore.

Having to wait till a device runs out of battery is a nightmare scenario

I agree. The System UI has been crashing hard on my S23 Ultra recently due to the One UI 6.0 Beta, which means I can't open any app or even shutdown—nothing happens. Thankfully, you can force a shutdown by holding Volume Down and Power for 15 seconds.

There should always be a hardware force shutdown option.

Maybe shake it repeatedly so that the gyroscope picks it up. 😄 Would be an inherent human response anyway.

They need to make it bigger for a start!

Yep. Until they have a larger case size, it's a nonstarter for me, regardless of features

Ha! I came to say the same thing. It looks like a woman's watch on my wrist. My wife pointed out how feminine it looks on me and she's right. It needs some bulk for men and larger women.

But can it make its battery last 5 days? 😅

[-] ReluctantMuskrat@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

That's why I love my Garmin. 4 years old and still lasts 5 days.

[-] avidamoeba@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 year ago

Same with Fitbit. 👌

Next year for sure the watch is going to be great, right guys?

This is a new patent, but it sounds like Project Soli from the Pixel 4.
