UN statistics aren’t accurate. Israels military is the most moral military in the world. /s

[-] ShittyBeatlesFCPres@lemmy.world 26 points 1 year ago

For a country where everyone^1 has to join the military, Israelis sure can’t aim for shit. Maybe we should send them less ordnance so they take their time and wait for a clear shot on a definite Hamas target, for once.

^1 Almost everyone, anyway. Bar Rafaeli, religious zealots, and that one pacifist Taylor Swift fan have found ways to avoid the IDF.

Notice how this is coupled with every bit of propaganda, true or false, that the Israeli government can muster against UNRWA, and Israel's stream of condemnations of the UN HRC, UN Secretary General, all the resolutions passed by the UN General Assembly (representing nearly every nation on Earth) over Israel's entire existence as a state, condemning their numerous and ongoing violations of international law - and even resolutions passed by the UN Security Council, where the US, UK and France all hold (and abuse) the ability to unilaterally veto resolutions, alongside Russia and China.

Zionists might not control the media, but they heavily influence it and people are seeing that clear as day now.

You didn’t quite say the quiet part out loud, but you got right up to the edge.

[-] stella@lemm.ee 3 points 1 year ago

I'm just describing what we're seeing in real time.

You’re using an obvious anti-Semitic dog whistle. You may have thrown in a euphemism and a dash of equivocation, but your meaning is as clear as a bell.

[-] stella@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

No, you're just upset that there might be some truth to what I said.

Hence why I re-iterate: this is what we're watching in real-time. Including people like you getting mad whenever it's called out.

You'd have a point if we all weren't watching evidence to the contrary on a daily basis.

Gonna block you now.

This isn’t about me— it’s about what you said, and no amount of personal attacks or cherry-picking on your part is going to change that.

Btw, rage-quitting out of the conversation isn’t the flex you think it is, lol.

There is an old trope for sure, but the media censorship is also true. There is actual media manipulation that is not based on a racist stereotype but on propaganda to cover up atrocities.

You can shove that dog whistle up your ass and look outside. Reality doesn't care what you think.

[-] gregorum@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago

Reality isn’t defined by personal attacks and cherry-picking.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

The United Nations secretary general, António Guterres, said on Monday that 89 employees of the U.N. agency aiding Palestinian refugees, known as UNRWA, had been killed in Gaza in the month of war between Israel and Hamas.

That is more “than in any comparable period in the history of our organization,” he told reporters at U.N. headquarters in New York, adding that many of the employees had been killed with members of their family.

On Sunday, the leaders of United Nations agencies and other humanitarian groups issued a joint statement calling for an immediate cease-fire, saying, “Enough is enough.

In the statement, they expressed “shock and horror” at the loss of life and called for the immediate release of hostages taken during the Hamas attacks in Israel last month.

It also said it lost four paramedics working for the Palestinian Red Crescent Society in Gaza as they treated casualties from the bombardment and tried to bring the wounded to the hospital.

The signatories included Martin Griffiths, the U.N.’s chief official for humanitarian and relief affairs, and Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the director general of the World Health Organization.

The original article contains 502 words, the summary contains 187 words. Saved 63%. I'm a bot and I'm open source!

Kinda happens when you hire the local population instead of bringing in your own personnel, then don't do anything when they turn out to also be working for a terrorist organization. Read up on the UNRWA
