Hello fellow nyets!

I've been meaning to set up PotW as a thing for this community, but I got distracted, and the low traffic isn't helping. It's a chicken and egg problem. But now it has been directly suggested to me so I gotta make it happen.

Every Monday, the top post from the "top week" list will be selected as the week's PotW. It would be featured in the top of the sidebar.

post your pictures!

As always, feedback and suggestions are welcomed! Adjustments will be made accordingly.

P.S. mod applications are implicitly always open. I'm looking for people who has more photography knowledge than me and has a lot to share wrt content and advice. :)

I can already see that the current method has no way of selecting an image in a post with images in the body either by vote or by bot, that doesn't involve discretion by the mods (i.e. me). I guess you'd need to put the most representative image as the main image, which will be the one featured in the sidebar as PotW.

A collage of the album content can be a good way to represent the album. I might get myself or the bot (when I get to it) to do it.

Share photos, images, etc. by nyets, for nyets. ITAPs are much welcomed!

How to post

  1. Main image: Upload an image in the Image field, or link to an image in the URL field.
    Linking external galleries (e.g. imgur or pixelfed albums) are fine too.
  2. Additional images: In the post editor, press the image icon to upload images. Drag-drop and copy-paste image data from clipboard works too.
    Otherwise, normal image markdown formatting (![alt-text](url)) works just as well.
  3. Formatting: To center or right align images in the post body, put them in a table, e.g.: 
    |         |
|:-------:|
|{centerd}|
|{content}|
  4. Other:
    • Filling the alt-text and providing extra information (where/when/who/equipment) is appreciated.
    • You should attribute images that you don't take yourself, in post body or in comments.

Content guides

  1. No pornograpic, sexually explicit, graphic, or shock content.
  2. Respect ownership. Don't repost content explicitly prohibited from being reposted.
  3. No reposts from Pictures of the Week.
  4. Don't use this community to spoil content from other communities.
