He's hailed as a hero in Florida.

Edit: Worth noting, she wasn't actually pregnant and he wasn't charged.

I don't think it matters a lot if she was actually pregnant or not. He was ready to shoot her anyway, he didn't care.

Right, it was just an interesting fact of the case.

What a sick fucking coward and a sociopath.

He's no doubt been dreaming of the day he gets to use lethal force, the fact they were running away with their backs turned is just a technicality. Probably gave him his first hard on for thirty years.

A sociopath

So she was robbing him and he shot her? Why would anyone take issue with that?

A lot of people argue that lethal force should be used in a matter of life or death only.

Once they are running away with their backs turned, it's arguable that there is no immediate threat to life and that lethal force is no longer required.

I know that at times like these it's very easy to let the heart rule the mind and to view justice as equal to revenge.

As a non-american, it boggles me that people use lethal force so lightly. Not even in situations where you are in danger yourself it is automatically warranted to use lethal force, only the force that is appropriate to deflect the danger is allowed, in general. Now of course there is some wiggle room here, and of course there is also the heat of the moment, but for example when someone is hitting you with a fist and you just blow his brains out, you are committing a crime too.
