Our lab constantly has yeast infections that we have to constantly treat. I would like to know if anyone has advice on what medications seem to work the best for a chronic case of yeast ear infections.

Does your dog get his ears wet a lot? Keeping them dry under the flaps is the best way to prevent it.

Nope. Doesn't get wet much. She is a lab and they are prone to these issues.

We don't have any water that she gets into other than when we bathe her.

We had a great Dane and needed to wash his ears out with a cleaner every month to prevent issues like this.

Did you have a recommendation for an ear wash?

Pretty sure the stuff we had was called virbac

Does your dog have skin issues or anything that seems related to allergies? I am dealing with allergies that cause skin issues like bumps, and flaky skin. I was advised to keep my dog’s ears clean as allergies that cause skin issues can also cause ear infections. I don’t have anything to recommend in terms of medicine but just something to consider as a possible cause if your dog has allergies.

I have a lab with frequent ear infections. The best ear cleaner I’ve found is Epiotic for weekly cleanings and we keep a bottle of MotaZol around for when the ear is actually infected.
