Yeah, I'm a 10 yearer. Shame, I loved Rif.
Been using it for about 12 years. I deleted all my comments, but haven't closed my account (due to work reasons - I'm in a Comms position, and keeping tabs on all SM is pretty important). However, no new comments, up/down votes, shares, nothing of the like.
My primary access was through Boost (Android), and I don't visit it much except for finding weird tech-support items, reviews/comparisons, and a few other unique pieces of content that will eventually migrate elsewhere.
Edit: I've also stopped scrolling and consuming personal content as much, now that I don't use reddit regularly.
Present. My oldest account just had it's 13th cake day.
Me.
Redditor for almost about 12 years now. Signed up on Sun 28th Aug 06:12:41 2011. Nuking my account as soon as I can get my data take-out.
Thirteen years, roughly 800k karma.
Nuked it all when RIF went down.
I put in something like 11 years. It's kong enough to understand that platforms can and will die in 10+ years.
Present, 11 year old account when I left. Not "deleted" because I'm lazy, but certainly abandoned.
My cake day was July 11 2011 so almost 12 years to the day when I left.
12 years here on my oldest account
13 years here. Spent a few years before that just lurking.
10 years, 120k karma
The changes would have had no immediate affect on me, but it’s the mods that made the place useable. I just can’t see it working after alienating so many of the people wrangling content
However I also expected to be next on the chopping block. I prefer to use a web browser and the constant nag to use the app was getting irritating, and they seemed to be eating away at the old UI to push us to the fiasco that replaced it (it probably doesn’t help that I use Safari on iPad and their attempt to get fancy is less compatible)
9 years here, was quite active too
I left at the start of the blackout which was 2 weeks under 10 years for me.
Add another
Would have 12 years in August here. There's some fandom-centric communities that I miss from my old reddit sub list, but honestly I'm thoroughly enjoying lemmy. I mostly stuck to the official app and the desktop old reddit before dropping it for lemmy, It's so damn nice not seeing He Gets Us ads or casino ads like every 4-5 posts. I left reddit just about when they announced the API cost changes and was like, welp that's going to kill everything. I got an email about Lemmy SDF because of my Mastodon and basically said hey might as well jump ship now and check this thing out.
Yeah, it’s been about that long.
Should be 10 years soon. I honestly haven't had any issues personally, but spez fell really low with his claims and decisions and I don't like the corporate stink. Better do something before it does affect me personally, and help the Fediverse grow.
10 years here. Feels refreshing !
I be gone. Miss the main content streams I enjoyed for sports but I think the community will build up here.
14 years and change. Haven't been back since blackout day.
14 years for me.
almost 11 years and over half a million karma.
11 years here.
Ten plus years. I'd have to log in to my account to check and it's not worth it. Quitting reddit was surprisingly easy.
Joined in 2009. Pretty much never browse Reddit anymore other than specific scenarios.
Yeah me too. This place is cool. And my instance has neat stuff in the local feed too.
12+ years user, I nuked all my accounts when the 3rd party apps died. I still follow a few subs that have no replacement yet.
Those events right before summer reddit ensure its a smoldering pile of rotting compost.
11 years last year I checked, quit digg for reddit, quit reddit for lemmy, still lots to learn here. It's good to be here.
Mine was 12 coming up on 13. Haven't gone back since RIF stopped working.
Don't think quite a decade, but definitely the better half of one.
