The energy generated by this virus is how the infected undead will continue to walk the earth.

Ooooh nice - that idea will definitely make it into the Starfinder campaign I'm gonna run

So what you're saying is this should be combined with cordyceps in a random lab in China that has really shitty containment procedures.

I was gonna bring up the human batteries in the Matrix, but I like your thing better.

This still pisses me off.

The original idea was they use our brains for processing power. Which actually makes sense.

But the studio thought people would have trouble understanding that.

[-] db2@sopuli.xyz 14 points 11 months ago

The people who would have trouble understanding that wouldn't be good candidates for matrix insertion though, so there's at least some symmetry.

They have the same wetware and clearly aren't using it. That gives the machines extra downtime to run on. They're excellent candidates.

And if they could come up with a virus that gave intelligence to the masses, that would be great...

[-] Darkenfolk@dormi.zone 3 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

Ah yes, the unwashed masses where everyone but *insert name of commenter aspiring semi-intellectual™ * is a part of. Those masses?

[-] gaiussabinus@lemmy.world 18 points 11 months ago

I am both unwashed and massive and I will take the smart juice please.

Super size it

[-] 520@kbin.social 4 points 11 months ago

Not the person you responded to, but I'm a computer hacker and I would take smart juice if made available to me.

[-] HubertManne@kbin.social 2 points 11 months ago

I would want to make sure of side effects first.

[-] ThePantser@lemmy.world 13 points 11 months ago

So when this starts infecting humans we either get electricity super powers or all die from electrocution.

[-] Lmaydev@programming.dev 6 points 11 months ago

I'm willing to take that gamble.
