A few days ago, YouTuber Hbomberguy released the video “Plagiarism and You(Tube).” It’s an insightful look at the current state of the creator economy, and how so much content these days is stolen. Or at least, that’s what I assume it’s about. That thing is 4 hours long! Why would I watch that when my whole gaming backlog is right there? Here’s 20 indie games that may or may not be in your own backlog, all of which you could beat in the time it takes you to watch that new Hbomberguy video.

I know it's satire, but for real you should watch that video. Especially if you care at all about queer media. Take your time and watch the chapters separately if it's overwhelming.

Can you elaborate on the topics that touch queer media?

Unless it's regarding Illuminaugti, because fuck that bitch.

[-] themoonisacheese@sh.itjust.works 26 points 9 months ago

Like half the video is dedicated to James Sommerton, a queer "creator". As you can guess, creator in scare quotes because it would otherwise require a creative effort on his part.

[-] TastehWaffleZ@lemmy.world 11 points 9 months ago

There is a chapter devoted to lluminaughti

[-] Hegz@lemmy.ca 43 points 9 months ago

What are the odds this list is plagiarized?

[-] akincisor@sh.itjust.works 32 points 9 months ago

I watched the whole video. AMA

It does for N=1

[-] akincisor@sh.itjust.works 7 points 9 months ago

Maybe. Probably not.

[-] SatansMaggotyCumFart@lemmy.world 19 points 9 months ago

How many erections did you get during that time?

[-] ALostInquirer@lemm.ee 16 points 9 months ago

Were you seated comfortably, and did you stay hydrated?

[-] akincisor@sh.itjust.works 6 points 9 months ago

I went about my daily chores mostly. Put it in the background like a podcast.

[-] SatansMaggotyCumFart@lemmy.world 12 points 9 months ago

Is cold fusion possible during our lifetimes?

[-] akincisor@sh.itjust.works 7 points 9 months ago

I believe it will happen just before the environmental collapse in 2050.

[-] Empricorn@feddit.nl 10 points 9 months ago

How do I pet my neighbor's dog?

[-] akincisor@sh.itjust.works 7 points 9 months ago

Ask your neighbor. Also make sure the dog seems friendly.

[-] Empricorn@feddit.nl 2 points 9 months ago

Hmm, human interaction. I'll risk it...

[-] jared@mander.xyz 9 points 9 months ago

What device did you watch it on?

[-] akincisor@sh.itjust.works 2 points 9 months ago

Phone mostly. Using LibreTube.

[-] SatansMaggotyCumFart@lemmy.world 4 points 9 months ago

Is it true everyone’s mothers are cum dumpsters?

[-] akincisor@sh.itjust.works 6 points 9 months ago

I'm sure there's at least one exception out there.

[-] DAMunzy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 28 points 9 months ago

Even better: play those games and have hmmmbmmmgmmm playing in the background on repeat!

Christ, that was a gut punch. I really enjoyed some of his vids. Oh well, one fewer reason to be on YouTube these days.

With Inspiration from Wumpus McGumpus' comment

[-] thisisnotgoingwell@programming.dev 3 points 9 months ago

It's pretty evident you plagiarized your comment, no reasonable person would write one "fewer" reason to be on YouTube when logically it would be one more reason to spend less time on YouTube.

[-] LoamImprovement@beehaw.org 5 points 9 months ago

I didn't plagiarize, look, I credited Wumpus McGumpus in my comment, see?

[-] Quetzalcutlass@lemmy.world 19 points 9 months ago

What a weird way to learn that there's a free demake of Furi.

[-] Annoyed_Crabby 18 points 9 months ago

You could beat Project Zomboid in a fraction of the video: just run outside after spawning and press Q.

[-] Mr_Blott@lemmy.world 18 points 9 months ago

In Far Cry 4, right at the beginning, when the bad guy offers you some crab Rangoon, if you just sit there and eat it, all the problems are avoided and the game finishes lol

[-] ChucklesMacLeroy@lemmy.world 10 points 9 months ago
[-] Mr_Blott@lemmy.world 6 points 9 months ago

Didn't know that! 😅 Don't think I finished 6 anyway so I might reinstall it to try now

[-] ChucklesMacLeroy@lemmy.world 5 points 9 months ago

The end of 6 was great. Not what you would expect to happen. Thought the end of 5 was kinda lame, but FC New Dawn made up for it.

[-] andrew_bidlaw@sh.itjust.works 18 points 9 months ago

A spicy idea, but this paragraph is too whiney. Author felt from their own edge.

[-] Nacktmull@lemm.ee 10 points 9 months ago

I very much doubt that most players could beat 20 Minutes till Dawn in four hours on the first try, except the ones with a lot of experience in playing surviverslike games.

[-] mosiacmango@lemm.ee 1 points 9 months ago

Im pretty sure I beat it in that time frame with the bat gun and the elemental character.

[-] Nacktmull@lemm.ee 2 points 9 months ago

Congratulations! However, I´m pretty sure you were good at survivor likes before.

[-] Legendsofanus@beehaw.org 4 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

Thanks man, I won't be playing those games and I just subscribed!

Edit: I just realized I know Brothers: A tale of Two sons, the only game I have from the list.

Finished it back on Xbox 360, time to dive back on PC?

[-] GammaGames@beehaw.org 3 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

12 Minutes

Shit! Do NOT play this one.

LOL, this is actually a decent list. Alternatively you could just play Snowrunner for a few days and watch it in the background

[-] RedStrider@lemmy.world 2 points 8 months ago

so... close....
