It makes sense... New York City isn't exactly known for electing a lot of Republicans. (Bowman's district had 3 times as many Biden voters as Trump voters in 2020.) Unless you're in Staten Island, your main choice is usually going to be between the Democrats in the primary so you might as well register to vote in it.
