Not asking these questions doesn't get us any closer to the answer either though?
If two things lead to the same result (in this example, neither asking the questions nor not asking the questions get us closer to the answer), then isn't the lesser effort option optimal?

As soon as I think we, I get depressed because I don't have the power to change anything about anyone else. But I can change me.
