I'm not sure what's typical, it's the first time I've had these. We've had the plant for about a year now but we didn't grow it from seed, purchased it at the local home improvement store.

I'm not exactly sure. It closed up already. So at least a day. Not sure how long it had been open. I doubt it was very long unfortunately.
