I predicted this would happen and I'm glad my prediction was right. The US and its followers are making policies and decisions as if it were still 1991.

Most in the west are perhaps shielded from how much the world has changed. But in Saudi Arabia I witnessed the transition in the following image first hand.

This is the impression I've had as well. The formative time for people in the western leadership was the collapse of USSR. And it really does seem like they've never updated their world model since that period. All the moves they make are premised on the idea that the west is more powerful economically and that it's indispensable to the rest of the world. We're now seeing both of those assumptions to be proven false with catastrophic results for the west.
