Dude wrote the horrendous Clinton Crime bill, setting the stage for further militarizing the police against minorities in the US and still finds ways to send more military equipment to police annually as president.

Anyone saying Biden is a humanitarian even before his fuck up in Palestine was either a fool or pushing propaganda.

The war on drugs and the crime bill had significant support in the black community and were endorsed by both political and religious leaders.

Getting into the uselessness of the “tough on crime” position politicians take would be a very involved discussion, but at the time it was not seen the way we now see it in hindsight, and it had pretty widespread support.

Biden is one of the biggest proponents of the murderous drug war. Based solely on his own fear and trauma towards drugs, his work has helped to destroy the lives of countless people who did nothing more than consume drugs. And like you said, police militarization, which goes hand in hand with the drug war.

Read the book "chasing the scream" regarding the drug war, Biden gets a good amount of blame because of his personal crusade to punish anyone who has ever touched so much as marijuana. He's pretty much as bad and right wing as you get from a democrat, sadly he's easily the lesser of two evils at the moment.

I agree with everything you said, but I wouldn't recommend any book by Johann Hari. Chasing the Scream is a powerful read, but Hari is a chronic plagiarist and liar, and everything he writes should be looked at with heavy skepticism.

And since the Israel-Hamas war began, the administration’s refusal to challenge Israeli actions widely seen as war crimes — from collective punishment of Gaza’s civilian population to attacks on civilians — has made it impossible for most observers to take Biden seriously on human rights.

Annie Shiel, the U.S. advocacy director for the rights group CIVIC, reflected on the contrast in a Dec. 21 statement reacting to the Defense Department’s announcement of a policy to shield civilians.

“For this policy to be meaningful, it must be applied consistently. The department’s response to catastrophic civilian harm and destruction in Gaza, caused by Israeli operations directly supported by U.S. assistance, has failed to live up to and actively undermined U.S. civilian protection efforts like this policy,” Shiel said. “A true commitment to protecting civilians must go beyond rhetoric and be backed by action and leverage — including the political will to suspend military aid that is directly contributing to the deaths of thousands of civilians.”

The governments of US and Israel are full of useless words and no actions when it comes to aiding suffering Palestinian innocents and minimizing unrelated casualties.

Yes it's Biden's problem, but it's the fault of the entire US state department. This behaviour on the world stage makes the US appear like Russia when they were part of G8.

Imagine being so willfully tone-deaf.
