Is there a feature for mods of an instance to shadowban users so that even if they post nobody will see it? I'm curious due to recent activity on some accounts, mainly the fact that they've received no replies (or points) to posts asking questions.

You're not shadow banned and I don't believe that's a thing. The newer versions of Lemmy 0.19.0/1 have issues with federation to other instances. If you are posting comments to another instance it is likely not being seen by anyone.

I don't even know if you'll see this comment.

I mainly post based on "Everything last 12 Hours" posts, which could be from any instance I suppose. Typically I'll get one or two points on a comment, the past 4-5 days no replies and no points.

If shadowbanning is/was a thing it would have soured my feelings on Lemmy, since I don't feel I've done/said anything bannable.

That's definitely the case then as most major instances pushed updates around then. Lemmy.World has been particularly bad since it's still running on the old 0.18.x version of Lemmy.

The bugs have been opened and the devs made aware of the issues. For now just be patient as things get worked on as it is the holiday season.

The upgrade to 0.19 broke federation with some instances like mine, which essentially makes it look like I’m shadowbanned on other instances. Check if your instance recently upgraded or if it has the same federation issues.

The site is too complex as well as still too early in its existence to do that, or else it would have to do this.

mass unban

But there always ways just to make sure I guess...
