Stupid question, but what makes it particularly suitable for adult video as opposed to, say, regular video by a camera/recording enthusiasts (who may or may not enjoy videos of spinning plastic bags)

The metadata structure and scrapers are all aimed at adult video. Although technically you can make your own, so maybe it could work for other things.

You can use it for any video/image but it can identify and automatically tag any adult video on their metadata database, so it makes organizing that kind of content particularly easy.

It has an O-counter, something I'd not use in an app that hosts my family videos.

Just a wild guess, but probably a tracking field for how often you orgasmed due to it.

In addition to what the other person said, it can perceptually identify videos which makes tagging your library a breeze.

They have a Dockerfile that enables hardware accelerated transcoding. It's not available on their Dockerhub unfortunately. Works great with Nvidia.

Wow. I was just thinking about making a community driven video tagger, so you can have specifics about a video that are missed in the usual tagging. How does this work in online videos? Will download when I get home.
