Title. Started Zariman a few weeks ago and had never seen rare containers, but now ive seen like 3-4. Is it because the kiddo guides you to something rare? or is it because you search more of the map in the first place? or is it simply more common?

The kid can take you to them yes, but it's how rng works. You either see none for 2 weeks or see them consistently in a row for an hour.

In other missions the landing craft parts drop from rare containers.
But the parallax parts actually drop from Reinforced Carrypods, which are a lot more common indeed. In case you're referring to this container.

The rare containers on Zariman missions that can drop forma, are the (Ancient) Molted Cask.
From my experience they seem to be similary rare.
As you said, if you're following the kiddo, and are looking for items on the map. You'll find the rare containers more, compared to when you blitz through completing the mission objective as fast as possible.

Pretty sure ots same chance to get rare container with forma, than in Void missions. Zariman maps just have inbuilt rare finder.
