The admin banned people for saying that calling everything transpobia isn't the way to make you seem reasonable and all non blahaj TLC get removed by default.

Nah their admin is drama queen. Unfortunately being trans doesn’t makes your decisions automatically right and everyone else transphobic.

I’m not talking about this particular case and I think their defederation from Lemmy NSFW was also stupid.

[-] sab@kbin.social 22 points 2 years ago

The nice thing about the Fediverse is that people can go forum shopping. Blåhaj is an instance that chooses to defederate too much rather than too little, making sure to create a safe space even if this safe space is smaller. That's between them and their users. As long as there are users who appreciate this approach to moderation, it's good for the Fediverse that such an instance exists.

... wasn't that over loli/shota stuff?

Why on earth would that cause issues? I expected a much worse community to cause a defederation

[-] CJOtheReal@ani.social 3 points 2 years ago

Got banned for saying that you cant call everything transpobia and shut people up with that.

[-] HKayn@dormi.zone 24 points 2 years ago

I don't think post titles in this community should include personal bias.

"lemmy.blahaj.zone admin announces defederation from programming.dev because of controversial comments made by their admin" would have been better and much more factual.

[-] CJOtheReal@ani.social 3 points 2 years ago

"controversial comments" my ass. Its a textbook powertripp over a very minor issue

[-] HKayn@dormi.zone 9 points 2 years ago

Cambridge Dictionary defines "controversial" as "causing disagreement or discussion". The admin's comments did just that, so objectively speaking they are controversial.

[-] awwwyissss@lemm.ee 1 points 2 years ago

Is helping sick babies controversial? I bet I could find someone who thinks we shouldn't help sick babies.

[-] HKayn@dormi.zone 4 points 2 years ago

Do let me know if you find someone like that.

[-] CJOtheReal@ani.social -1 points 2 years ago

The only people finding it worth arguing are hexbears and that admin, its not controversial its bs.

[-] HKayn@dormi.zone 13 points 2 years ago

That's your opinion, which I'm saying should be excluded from the post title.

[-] CJOtheReal@ani.social -5 points 2 years ago

Its not a opinion, the stuff you wrote makes it seem like the blahaj admin has a case or anything besides a powertripp about a game.

[-] Kichae@lemmy.ca 6 points 2 years ago

Their cause is "their website, their rules". They really don't need to justify what other independent websites they share content with.

[-] CJOtheReal@ani.social 0 points 2 years ago

That's pretty idiotic in case of a federated service. you can just close registration and delete the user database so nobody can do anything "anti trans" on your instance if you act like a child on such hilariously small issues.

[-] corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca 19 points 2 years ago

I kinda thought the 'cissie' name-calling was a little obstructive to proper conversation. I get that some people are really offended by the 'cis' name, and I'm not sure the writer didn't choose that jeer intentionally because of that.

And idiotic as hell. Like... They say you shouldn't mock people based on their sexuality or gender yet this happens all the time...

[-] Fizz@lemmy.nz 17 points 2 years ago

Looking at the comment thread and seeing that it's all hexbear users makes me think whatever he said was justified.

[-] CJOtheReal@ani.social 7 points 2 years ago

He didn't even say anything bad or transpobic, just played a game and made a post that ot won a award..

[-] DragonTypeWyvern@literature.cafe 7 points 2 years ago

Kind of fucked up reasoning, but you're not wrong, it was pretty harmless, but the point of blahaj is specifically to be a trans space, no matter how small that ends up being so...

Good luck, I guess.

[-] Blackmist@feddit.uk 6 points 2 years ago

It's perfectly fine to have ultra safe spaces, but I do wonder why they're then putting them on the Fediverse.

[-] CJOtheReal@ani.social 2 points 2 years ago

I mean there are literally people in the thread saying they outright leave blahaj for this shit and it's 100% justified.

[-] DragonTypeWyvern@literature.cafe 1 points 2 years ago

Are the trans people saying that?

[-] CJOtheReal@ani.social 5 points 2 years ago

Idk of they are trans but they are blahaj users and got lots of upvotes for it there are however trans people saying explicitly that its BS and completely out of proportion.

[-] theKalash@feddit.ch 16 points 2 years ago

This must be the most pathetic reason for defedaration I've ever seen.

[-] CJOtheReal@ani.social 13 points 2 years ago

Almost. The lemmy.ml defederation of ani.social is still top of all because it was completely made up

[-] asymmetric@lemmy.ca 4 points 2 years ago

Admin sees an anime illustration: "Oh my god this is child porn. DEFEDERATE DEFEDERATE!"

[-] CJOtheReal@ani.social 4 points 2 years ago

Basically. I understand that if we speak about burggit but man ani.social has a 0 tolerance rule for legal reasons.

[-] spiderman@ani.social 4 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

yeah that sucks honestly since i never seen anything remotely related to reason they provided for the defederation

[-] CJOtheReal@ani.social 3 points 2 years ago

Eh its a masked tankie instance, i used a app ever since to block the instance among hexbear and lemmygrad still completely made up shitshow reason

Only reason im mad is because they took the instance from join-lemmy.org what a disgrace to humanity they are...

[-] awwwyissss@lemm.ee 2 points 2 years ago

I've come very close to giving up on the fediverse because of the tankie/bot instances. I swear my blood pressure goes up when I just hear "hexbear", what a pile of toxic garbage.

[-] CJOtheReal@ani.social 1 points 2 years ago

100% this. Glad there are instances that stand against it.

[-] spiderman@ani.social 2 points 2 years ago

i think they reverted that change later after hitagi made an issue on gh

[-] CJOtheReal@ani.social 3 points 2 years ago

Ah ok yeah, still idiots.

[-] Dio@lemy.lol 7 points 2 years ago

Welcome to their increasing insanity.

[-] CherenkovBlue@iusearchlinux.fyi 4 points 2 years ago

Ridiculous power tripping.

[-] baggins@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 years ago

Good thing nobody is forcing you to have an account on Blahaj
