I'm 30 and majority of my friend group says Sigma, skibidi, rizz on a daily basis. Tiktok memes are getting everyone I can't even laugh at these kids anymore because my friends are just as cringe but without the excuse of being 13.

People finally find a place to be happy and bots come and ruin it. I hate robots.

At the moment federation between platforms is not useful. The only advantage is federation between Instances. I've used my sister at a test for what the average woman would think about it.

Aspects she thinks is cool are that it's owned by people and designed for people, that its left leaning and inclusive.

Aspects she doesn't care about are privacy, lack of ads, federation between instances, federation between platforms.

Aspects she doesn't like are her friends aren't there, none of the accounts she like are there, no recommendation algorithm. She also hates the name fediverse.

I think that we need to stop being boomers clutching our chronological feed and word of mouth discovery and embrace algorithms. That's not to say we can have chronological feeds it's just that we should include and option and serve some form of content recommendations.

I also think threads will be a major player in drawing people in. Its easier to convince people who use Instagram to switch from Twitter to threads than Twitter to Mastodon. Once they're on threads they can start being a part of the fediverse and then eventually they might decide to try out one of the instances.

I feel for that women but that case presented is self defense. She was removed from the immediate danger and had non violent options but planned out a violent attack. She took the law into her own hands by getting people to kill her husband.

I don't think the author makes a good case for this being self defense law failing women. This seems to be more that domestic violence law sucks and police were inept at supporting domestic violence victims. I would like to think that has improved nowdays with the domestic violence ads and messaging that gets put out.

I like that it's slower moving and the moderation is open. I like that the different instances have different culture.

I like that the content and discussion generated is open and will remain open forever. I don't have to worry about the content being locked away behind a paywall or bad company direction.

I love that the platform is open to alternative technology and values open source and copy left philosophies.

I saw this picture while looking at overclocking guides and I wondered if I may have my power setup incorrectly. My GPU is currently connected exactly like the don't do this diagram.

I was looking through Userbenchmarks at a few different GPU's and I noticed that every single review for all GPU's included a negative review about AMD GPU's falsifying data, paying people to shill and experienced gamers knowing that AMD is a bad choice. I looked a little further and saw that all these reviews came from one account and after digging more it seems that this is userbenchmarks account considering they've made videos expressing the same sentiment on their youtube channel.

Its insane to me how one of the highest trafficked hardware comparison websites is blatantly this biased and still has the balls to accuse AMD of paid sponsorship. What are some better hardware comparison sites to use?
