Long shot, but any help around Ghent? (lemmy.ml)

I just recently moved to Ghent, Belgium. I’ve been looking for some weed but no luck so far. I self-medicate with weed (neurodivergence), but cbd doesn’t really help much.

If anyone would be able to help, I’m more than willing to meet in person so you can vet me 😆 I also want to make friends here after all. But I’ll settle for some direction on where to find street dealers, while I look for a more decent hookup…

Not a resident of Ghent but I love that place.

I believe there are some local online sellers that you can find easily (quick DuckDuckGoing should find you some), but be ready with a crypto wallet. Also heard that it works to ask students, especially if you are a student yourself, they would be lax about it and help you. Another good idea would be to go on a quick vacation to the Netherlands, get it from there and bring it back. Make sure to use a sealed smell proof bag. If I'm not wrong, you won't get into too much trouble since belgium has decriminalized possession and personal use as long as it's under 3 grams.

I was thinking of going to the gaming bar The World’s End cause in my experience rpg players were always potheads where I’m from. I was hoping it would be similar here 😆

About going to the Netherlands, I also did think of that. Might do that this weekend or something. A ticket to Breda is like 20 bucks, and weed is now 100% legal there… that would be the “easiest” way I guess.

I would say the classic stuff online, someone with 420 in their title, maybe a broccoli emoji. Another trick I've heard of but have not tried is installing Grindr, I've seen people swear you could find a seller rather quickly, have a fake bio with the slightest hint that you're looking to buy.

Another way to do it would be ordering from the dark web shipped to your mailbox, which would have a bit of a learning curve and security concerns.

Yeah basically I was traveling and at some point reached Ghent, I was unaware that it was decriminalized there, and only after getting there did it hit me that I could have just brought some back from NL myself 🤣 At least there you can also pick a strain you like, should last you enough until you find a permanent supplier when you live.

FWIW, if you're taking the train, I just went from Amsterdam to Brussels via Eurostar last month and consumed all my weed before the train thinking there might be security (I'm not from Europe), and there was absolutely zero. Just onto the platform, check ticket, you're good.

So, as long as you look halfway presentable I'd say it's a very easy way to get some. Can't really speak for driving.
