Now the token generation method for guest account is not working anymore.

You can still use your twitter account token for nitter but it will get banned immediately ​:ded:​

Use https://twiiit.com for random nitter instances for now. https://status.d420.de has nitter instances statuses

As per the statement all remaining instanced will go down over time, though not sure how long that will take.

It's not the open-sourceness, but the interconnectivity of the fediverse. Meta could, in theory, do this with WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram.

Meta can do this only because it owns all the 3 companies. No private entity would want to exchange user-data with others.
