It's only been 2 weeks since starting this community up but I do love how active it has been.

Lemmy was very much a ghost town for me when I first signed up and couldn't find any communities to match the ones that filled my feed on reddit.

Now I see a healthy amount of activity in this and other communities that have sprung up recently.

Really cool to see people starting threads and offering the nuanced discussions on games here--which is really the stuff I was hoping would happen.

Anyway, just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has posted and commented and contributed to making this community alive.

Keep it up!

This is really the only general video game community I followed on reddit given how young/toxic a lot of the other subs would be, so I'm glad for the community growing here on lemmy!

r/patientgamers is having a vote over the next few hours about how to continue, and do they or do they not participate in the protest. I dropped by and left a migration encouragement message for them in the thread.

It was one of my favorite communities on Reddit. We'll rebuild it here. Cheers!

Yup! I see there's another Patient Gamers on another instance too:

I think when I start getting to the subscribing functionality in my summer lemmy app project I'll try and add some type of grouping.

Would be nice to have the multireddit type functionality to see a combined feed of communities with the same name that you follow on various instances.

I have a feeling that as Lemmy continues to gain popularity, someone will make that happen.

A gaming sub free from the hype and oversaturation of current releases, catering to gamers who wait at least 12 months after release to play a game. Whether it's price, waiting for bugs/issues to be patched, DLC to be released, don't meet the system requirements, or just haven't had the time to keep up with the latest releases.
