The full text of the "umbilical dirt" paper (cited at the end of the WaPo article) is freely available.
The article says that a lot of people catch fibers from their clothes, but like...I don't feel like my shirt gets into my belly button? I wonder if the survey from 2002 also took into account weight.
Maybe it's because you use a TC Tuggers Top. It's the only shirt with the tugging knob to keep the shirt from getting ruined when you pull it because it's getting bunched up.
WTF did I just see, lol
Somebody's angling for an Ig Nobel.
Doesn't even get into the whole bacterial strains unique to every individual thing.
