Our most productive plant is K. laetivirens, an unusual succulent that yields many plantlets around the edges of its leaves. There are varieties: ours is bright green, resilient, and likes small pots.

We grew a large one (to truly become a mother of thousands). We cultivate its many plantlets in glass pots and anonymously leave them for others in our neighbourhood in Toronto.

What a cute idea! How many have you given away so far?

Reminds me a bit of the Million Orchid Project, where plants are given to community members and schools to plant out in their community https://fairchildgarden.org/science-and-education/science/million-orchid-project/

Just a couple batches so far, but we've recent set up an LED system to accelerate plantlet growth in the pots. We hope to leave around 100 pots this summer. Thank you for the link re: orchids, it's a great project!

We live in Toronto, but are very focused on our community in Wychwood and will probably make our drops-offs entirely within the neighbourhood. Thank you so much for the recommendation! We haven't heard of this podcast before, it looks excellent, and now have 427 episodes to enjoy.

It's pretty good! I have only listened to a few episodes so far. I have tended to skip through the first 30-40% of the episodes, which has been a lot of discussion of the guest's academic training and career, which isn't very interesting to me personally. After they finish talking about that, I usually enjoy the rest of each episode!
