Y'all claim Westerners don't have culture, and yet you will not even watch the 100 hours of Marvel necessary to level an informed critique. 
Why would I want to get into the Marvel Universe? Everything is always being exploded and crushed even more than this one.

I took a class a few years back that discussed how superhero comics emerged in the 1930s and 40's because the economy was shit and the general public felt powerless so superhero fantasy became go to for escapism- then it receded in popularity for more realistic stories in television/filmand became a primarily comics medium.
I'm waiting with bated breath for the public consciousness to get to that point because I am exhausted with this copy paste copaganda.
I think there was also a very real sense of dread during the Cold War when people genuinely feared that the world’s superpowers would just destroy each other. They needed the superhero fantasy to escape from reality.
Interesting enough, the Soviet Union did not have a superhero comic book culture. In the Soviet Union, heroes are just normal people who went beyond their duty and sacrifice themselves for the greater good, not people born or engineered with god-like superpowers.
