Are we ok to post our own music? I'm a hobby experimental musician and would like to find another way to share.

I can't speak for the mods but I'd love to see original music here.

Yeah I didnt want to overstep. ๐Ÿ˜…

That's an easy one.

If you're here to spam your own content, especially moreso if you don't engage others content while spamming only your content, you'll find the community will use their downapples against you.

9:1 ratio and all that shit.

As @gid said, I can't speak for mods either, but I think original music would be a great contribution here, so long as you're actually open to the community engaging with, evaluating, and discussing your music rather than just hoping to drop a bunch of spammy promotional posts. Assuming you just want to share your music with this ostensibly music-loving community, that sounds great to me.

One thing the mods could do (if this works like mastodon) is allow a block list. So say people like myself post, we have to use a specific term in the title (eg "S3LFPR0M0"). Any user getting annoyed (because I know some wont actually want to see it) can just block any post with that term in it.

Oh and maybe limit that sort of music to a specific day of the week

Reiterating that I'm not a mod and don't mean to overstep, but personally until the community grows larger I think an informal rule of general courtesy will probably suffice.

Maybe something reasonable like "no more than 2 self-promotional posts per week in this community." Just my 2 cents.

Uh, yeah, do it. I agree with what folks have said in the thread generally

Thanks for the reply. As I said in another reply - might be worth looking at proper rules in time.
