Yes.

They care a great deal.

They too like assholes.

It seems like they don't back Trump despite him being a fascist, they back Trump because he is a fascist.

Betteridge's law of headlines is an adage that states: "Any headline that ends in a question mark can be answered by the word no."

Republicans want autocracy, and always have. The people who invented conservatism were literally monarchists, FFS!

[-] ivanafterall@kbin.social 14 points 8 months ago

They care. They crave a discipline daddy.

[-] Ultraviolet@lemmy.world 11 points 8 months ago

They're in favor of it. Trump isn't some anomaly outside an otherwise respectable party, they're all fascists. The only thing different about Trump is he's worse at hiding it.

[-] FenrirIII@lemmy.world 4 points 8 months ago

Fascists. Racists. Sexists. White nationalists.

[-] Son_of_dad@lemmy.world 10 points 8 months ago

Why would they grow a conscience all of a sudden?

[-] superduperenigma@lemmy.world 9 points 8 months ago

If you still think Republicans will ever give a shit about anything Trump says or does, you should probably have a doctor look into whatever head injury is causing such delusions.

[-] AlwaysNowNeverNotMe@kbin.social 9 points 8 months ago

They care in so much as that they would love to be aristocrats in a fascist society where they could have people killed at their whim with no repercussions. Rape and groom as they like using the leverage afforded to them by the first power. And rewrite history to their own imagination so as to never feel guilty about any of it.

Republicans believe in hierarchy. If that means placing a dictator at the top in order to achieve the desired hierarchy, then no. They’ll be fine with the means needed to achieve the desired ends.

[-] Binthinkin@kbin.social 7 points 8 months ago

The crooks that run Trump financially just need him to win. He’s disposable after.

Oh they do care, just in the wrong way ...

[-] mp3@lemmy.ca 3 points 8 months ago

They only care about gaining power and impose their ideology, dictatorship be damned.

[-] xc2215x@lemmy.world 2 points 8 months ago

No most likely not.

[-] KairuByte@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 8 months ago
