Are there any modern games like Carmageddon?

The freedom of that game was fantastic. You could finish the race, but you could also instead waste all your opponents instead and / or electrocute zombies and perform epic stunts.

Wreckfest for pure body damage destruction.

There is a somewhat janky game called Trail Out with a lot of different modes including zombie mode.

There was a remake in 2016 which I enjoyed. Same freedom and stupidity I remember from the original.
