The fact that the zoo is not considering Spot as a name is criminal.

They should name it Spic 'n Span cuz it's spotless.

I can already see the unofficial nickname Tennesseans will give it.

How long until Tennessee Republicans aim legislation at the giraffe with no spots?

Also the children's book writes itself. Easy $1 billion to the first person that writes "The Giraffe Who Had No Spots."

Stop shoving you giraffe gender issues on my kids! It's making them corrupt and weird!

At what point are we just going to call it a long necked horse?

[-] JoShmoe@lemmy.zip 17 points 1 year ago

Well it turns out that giraffes are brown with white netting.

papa giraffe should've been suspicious of the lion that keeps visiting them

I wonder if this is a reflection of the ancestral coloration of giraffes (loss/improper functioning of the genes that give them spots) or a neat individual mutation? I bet the genetics would be fun to look at

That's a camel, not a giraffe!

[-] Shard@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

There's camel in the zoo sweating buckets right about now.

This is for strictly mildly interesting material. If it's too interesting, it doesn't belong. If it's not interesting, it doesn't belong.

This is obviously an objective criteria, so the mods are always right. Or maybe mildly right? Ahh.. what do we know?

Just post some stuff and don't spam.
