Hotter than the surface of the sun by a factor of ~18000.

Hotter than the suns core by a factor of ~7.

People talk about Icarus flying too close to the sun. Motherfuckers are recreating it in labs 😂

When Lemmy was making waves last year when Reddit pulled an “enshittification” of the platform. One of the first things I noticed was how terrible the experience was when trying to navigate to other Lemmy instances.

Hopefully this will help bridge the gap when it becomes generally available.

Seems like all Fortune 500 companies are laying off 5-10% of their staff every year to pump end of year report.

Have seen cuts across multiple industries. Not just tech.

What’s the over/under on time to ban for BidenHQ (https://truthsocial.com/@BidenHQ)

Also, that fucking site is asking for a phone number to register. Fuck that.

Counter point: If I didn’t hear how badly he runs his businesses, or how bad his company’s products are. I would have easily bought one or more of his products.

I have backed out of Tesla pre-orders because of the bad publicity, many reports of bad build quality, and terrible business decisions.

If this was a puff piece, I honestly wouldn’t have bothered posting it.

Found this interesting. Looks like it’s in 🇺🇸. Surprised it has not been towed.

Heard of stories of abandoned vehicles in the Middle East (Dubai?), but with super cars.

It's been awhile folks, but found another one! This time on a show called "Gut Job".

Poor homeowners overpaid for some shit house in the 'burbs. Couldn't be bothered to pay for a proper TV mounting service 😂

Starting at $61K, lol. Quite possibly the ugliest piece of shit I have seen in awhile.

If you want to get away with murder in the USA, use a car to kill your victim.

Would be nice if companies can spin up their own (lemmy|mastodon|...) instances and push out releases there. No more "blue check marks" to verify authenticity or relying on the platform to be stable. If it comes from @public.apple.com, then it's guaranteed to be authentic.

I see plenty of room to pass. Person running in the gutter lane. Sidewalks in this area look fucking rough (thanks, car centric transportation!).

What’s mildly infuriating is the asshole taking a picture WHILE operating a motor vehicle.

This guy could be 20 points down in some random poll. I’m showing up to the polls against him.

[-] malloc@lemmy.world 113 points 1 year ago

Given that a conviction does not stop this person from running as a candidate for POTUS. I wish the media would stop giving this guy air time.

It’s all he wants. He didn’t show up to the GOP debate yet somehow still got equal mentions in mainstream media.

Even local news channels airing his prerecorded shit. Like bro, I want the traffic and weather updates. Not this bs

Wow, he negotiated a contract with Uber only. Lyft drivers fucked. Drivers will probably flee to Uber for higher guarantees. Will Lyft compete to retain their talent or continue to pay the minimum? Or will they drop out of the city entirely and leave Uber as the de facto monopoly in drive sharing?

Mayor pretty much gave a middle finger to its people with the veto. I wonder how much the mayor was wined and dined to ignore 8 months of work by the city and consultants

Context: looking to build a 4K gaming setup and maintain at least 120 fps. Occasional video editing involved.

Haven’t built a PC in a long time (7-8 yrs at least). Other PC was an Intel but decided to go with AMD this time around since it appears there is minimal difference in terms of performance.

As far as GPU selection, doesn’t seem like there is much diff between 4080 and 4090 so decided to go with the former.

As far as memory and disk, I do realize 128G and 8TB of disk drive is excessive. These might be the areas I will shave off some $$$

For PSU, decided to go with the top tier choice as indicated in this list: https://cultists.network/140/psu-tier-list/

PSU is something I would prefer not to skimp on. Also PCpartpicker does not list “ASUS | ROG Loki Platinum” for some reason and just selected a similar model.

Open to suggestions, critique, or roast 😂

The bug bash quests can be found in the Windows Feedback Hub, and partaking in the bug bash often concludes with a badge in the Feedback Hub that acknowledges your participation.

Imagine doing free QA for a multibillion dollar corporation. I hate Microsoft so much.

Maybe it's just me, but I find the default tab group behavior in Safari to be complete ass. It doesn't have the natural Apple feel to it. It feels like an after thought that Apple developers threw in there to compete with Chrome.

Why do I have to open up a separate menu to get to my tab groups? Why can't it be integrated into the same window like Chrome does? Every time I switch between tab groups, it has to reload every site.

The fact that a 2.9 mi car ride costs $50 with a tip is fucking insane. This country is absolutely backwards when it comes to transportation. Everything is nearly car centric. Minimal options for alternatives.
