For the subscription, it's worth trying to unsubscribe and try again - sometimes it doesn't quite go through especially as lemmy.world was overloaded and it might have missed the response from lemmy.ml as a result.
Thanks. I unsubbed and subscribed again with no change. It appears that I can participate directly, but content doesn't show up on my feed. Same with a bunch more communities.
Even though it says Subscription Pending, you should effectively already be subscribed.
