It's a trap for the stupid you can get an actual dog and a flamethrower for much less.

Yay more forest fires…or fires…

[-] fsxylo@sh.itjust.works 3 points 6 months ago

But think of the gender reveal parties!

[-] SteefLem@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

Yes they would become very interesting… yeeeaaayy its a girl look at the pink forest fire

[-] BruceTwarzen@kbin.social 1 points 6 months ago

If the fire is big enough, it's only one fire

We will see

That seems surprisingly cheap

for remote control through a smartphone.

Whilst this was probably an inevitable feature, it inadvertently allows the pilot to appear relatively innocuous

I feel like this is going to result in something bad

It fucking astounds me as an Australian that Americans can just... buy shit like this. Anything fun gets immediately banned here.

[-] Tywele@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 6 months ago

It might be fun but I also wouldn't want this in the hands of stupid people.

[-] BruceTwarzen@kbin.social 4 points 6 months ago

Americans can't even tell people what gender their kid will be without setting a forrest on fire, now they want flamethrower dogs?

[-] IsThisAnAI@lemmy.world -4 points 6 months ago

I couldn't give a shit nor be bothered to worry any some imaginary scenario that's going to happen less often than a lightning strike.

[-] BruceTwarzen@kbin.social 1 points 6 months ago

People dumb enough to buy flamethrower dogs setting a whole state on fire is an imaginary scenario?

[-] IsThisAnAI@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

Roofing flame throwers have been a thing for 40 years. We not suddenly going to see a bunch of new accesses to these tools. They said the same exact shit about the not a flamethrower and here we are not burning alive from fires started by them.

Just pop over to Bunnings and make your own. Don't forget the snag going in and out. Gotta support those local charities and sport teams.

I wonder what is the interest rate on flamethrowing robot dog loans?

[-] king_link1@feddit.dk 2 points 6 months ago

This is the technology i hoped the future had in store for me

[-] saltesc@lemmy.world 3 points 6 months ago

Eh. It's the kind of thing I'd play with for an afternoon and then it'd live in the shed because it's too much effort lol

I have a few of those things in the shed... None quite $10K and flame throwing, though.

[-] mydude@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

Will the owner-class use these to kill desperate people on their property, or will the poor suddenly have capital to buy these for fun? What will our future be? Stay tuned.

I'll have whatever drugs you are on at this point.
