Make no mistake. Backward Arizona lawmakers are afraid of you. Afraid that they will be kicked out of office. And they don't have any other skills.

So don't you dare tell me voting doesn't work. It still does. For now...

Republicans hate this one trick!

[-] xmunk@sh.itjust.works 43 points 6 months ago

In response, Kari Lake celebrated the accomplishments of the Republican state congress while admonishing how long it took for the Democrats to get on board - highlighting how long the Democratic Governor took to sign the bill.

She also published an opinion piece talking about how wonderful it'd be to have that 1864 law in place and lamenting that Democrats "just love killing babies 'n shit."

(This is all fabricated... but if it was true would you really be that surprised?)

You had me hook, line, and sinker until you said it was fake at the end

I actually think you might need to fact check your fabrication in case it isn't one. And then probably repeat hourly for the next few days at least, just to be sure.

Death of Satire is very low on the list of grievances I have with the far right, very low indeed, but it is definitely on the list.

Are you sure this is not true? Are you?

[-] Davel23@fedia.io 7 points 6 months ago

100% believable.

You might want to rephrase your satire disclaimer. It read to me like "Kari lake fabricated all this," and I already have enough reason to dislike her without something like that.

If there's any proof that the GOP want to return America to a time before anyone other than white men had rights, it's them wanting to reinstate a law from 1864.

[-] Gerudo@lemm.ee 11 points 6 months ago

Nice to see the pushback finally worked.

[-] catsarebadpeople@sh.itjust.works 6 points 6 months ago

Only two Republicans voted to repeal this.

[-] silence7@slrpnk.net 6 points 6 months ago

They voted to repeal it because they thought that not repealing it would result in stronger abortion rights at the ballot box in November.

[-] catsarebadpeople@sh.itjust.works 2 points 6 months ago

Correct. Even those two so not care about their constituents

[-] SaltySalamander@fedia.io 5 points 6 months ago

Of course some uncaring imbecile downvoted this post.

[-] empireOfLove2@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 6 months ago

This is getting out of hand. Now there are two of them!

[-] vividspecter@lemm.ee 4 points 6 months ago

I'm seeing double here, four downvotes!

Will no one think of the karma totals?!??
