He wasn't a traveler, he lived there. Expecting every gay man who lives in Qatar to remain celibate is ludicrous.
That's even worse! Why would you live in a country whose government actively wants you dead?!
Because that's where his job sent him? I don't know. I'm sure he had a good reason.
Feels like the world has become less open. A few years ago, I would have visited just about any country. But, there are more and more I just won’t visit now. I just don’t want to end up a political prisoner in some janky country with an axe to grind with the US. Or, there are literal wars happening there.
Aren't you at least the slightest bit concerned that governments are luring queer people into torture chambers through dating apps? What if a government starts doing that because it doesn't like how two ethnic groups are coming together as couples?

As a mod, I really try to read articles posted in here all the way through when I can, but this one was just too disturbing, disgusting, outrageous and sad.
At least he is out and about and not in a cell currently.
Possibly not in time to save his life considering he's HIV+.
That was the most devastating part, that he might build a tolerance to meds that were working. What a horrific thing to endure
