I've added some instances to the instance filters, yet I continue seeing those instances. Is there something else that I need to do to block entire instances?

Are you sure you aren't just seeing the cache? Try cleaning cache, I'm not sure if a close of the app and reload is enough

Yeah, I'm sure. It's specifically lemmy.ml that keeps showing up. The other blocked instances seem to actually be blocked, but ML keeps appearing for some reason.

The options I'm aware of are A) that spot to block/filter instances in Sync (which you've already done), or B) going to the web interface with a browser, going to your settings page there, and there's the tab for Blocks. That page has ways to block a person, community, or (at the very bottom of that) instance.

I can't help you with getting the filter to stick, but at least there's another way (which should end up being client agnostic)

Ah cool. Thanks, man. I'll try the website. I used to be a member of ML and liked it, but as time has gone on, it has become very much a monoculture. It gets annoying seeing the same 3 points repeated across every single conversation.

The specific steps to block an instance will vary depending on the platform. If you're unsure about how to block instances on your specific platform, consult the platform's documentation or help center. Thank you for contacting Sync support.

What do you mean "platform"? I'm talking about blocking an instance with the Sync client for the Lemmy platform of the fediverse.
