This is just terrible on so many levels! Even if you decide these people need to be charged, how tf is this considered burglary?
Because they can't charge them with felony trespassing, so it's got to be burglary.
Forgive my ignorance, but isn't burglary a legally defined term that require a certain crime to have been commited?
California's burglary has "petty theft" as one of the signifiers for burglary. All they have to prove is that anything is missing, like a stapler, and then they can charge all of them with burglary.
May this insane overreaction by the state galvanize an entire generation to activism. Things have got to change
Meanwhile the governor of Texas is pardoning jury convicted murderers like Daniel Perry for political gain.
This is meant to send a signal and intimidate protesters.
Sounds like some future GOP presidential candidate material if convicted!
Well there are other places to protest. Like the commons area or something idk.
