I’m currently using Memmy and it’s giving me Apollo vibes but I’m open to testing out other apps ^^

@DuskLoaf Just started using Ice Cubes for Mastodon (for this reply) but also using WefWef and Mlem.

I've tried: Connect, Jerboa, Liftoff, Thunder, Summit, and Wefwef.

For now, I've settled on Liftoff, though I do keep Jerboa installed as well.

Edit: ah, you're on iOS. In which case, I got nuttin.

Same. I like it (and miss Apollo). But I also like the web interface too.

Thunder on Android

I'd like to know what I am doing wrong when trying to log-in. I can't be the only person having issues.

I have this account (Hazdaz) and I've tried logging into wefwef, Connect and Jerboa. On ALL three apps on my Samsung S21FE I get an error message that my credentials/password isn't correct. I've used my PC and reset the password. Changed at least 2 times now and tried again logging into these 3 Android apps and the error is the same. What can I possibly be doing wrong? The only way I can access Lemmy is on a computer. I've asked about this a few days ago and some helpful people replied but nothing they suggested worked.

How can this be so difficult?

Memmy for iOS

[-] Idefinitelydonotknow@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

Jerboa for the most part. Allows me a couple of accounts and lets me keep them separate.

Liftoff is pretty decent too, except the both accounts sort of merge and show up in a single feed.

Really cannot wait for Boost. Seriously, so psyched!

[-] panja@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

In liftoff, you can tap the title in the middle and select the instance you want to see

I really like Jerboa, has everything I need and Jeboas are so cute!

Here are the apps I've used for Lemmy on Android!

  • Liftoff - my current app of choice. It's very fast, supports the gestures I need, and while it lacks a bit in appearance customization, it makes up for it in speed and features.
  • Connect - I originally wrote it off due to the inability to disable swipe gestures, though I tried to switch back to it after that feature was added. It's now a very pleasant experience, with a lot of customization! The only downside is that it is still slower than Liftoff at the moment.
  • Jerboa - decent, but buggy.
  • Lemmotif - no features, no logins, no customization, no posting, no nothing; just pure, blazingly fast, Lemmy doomscrolling.

I think it's okay to keep discussing this because the app situation is very much in flux at the moment. I'm on Jerboa because it's the best native app I've found that plays nice with a folding phone and Samsung DeX. My requirements are simple, but they are niche. I'm keeping an eye on a few other apps though because while Jerboa is great as it is there are improvements to be found.

Any love for Thunder here?

[-] LinksMasterSw0rd@lemm.ee 2 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Thunder is the best so far IMO. It has so many features, runs smoothly, has a great search function. One of the only things I think it needs more of is theming.

Edit: came back because since this comment I've been using Connect and haven't looked back. !Lemmyconnect@lemmy.ca if you want to check it out. Amazing app.

I have a lot but I use none. I mainly use the web version, also on mobile.

[-] AMDmi3@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

There isn't much choice - F-Droid only contains Jerboa (not counting abandoned and broken Lemmur).

[-] hypertown@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

WefWef works great as a web app. Just open wefwef.app in your browser and click install in browser context menu.
