Western media (and a few people on the lemmy.ml post) shaming these people shows yet again how little they value Ukrainian lives

Also interesting how they keep claiming that Ukrainians want to fight and that's why the west has to prolonged the conflict, but when faced with the reality that's at odds with these claims they show zero empathy for the people of Ukraine.

It's "to the last Ukrainian", not "to the last willing Ukrainian".

Very curious how the only Ukrainians we hear say they want to fight are the ones...not fighting. Admittedly, those in the trenches are probably not giving many interviews, but if they were so eager to fight surely the rest should be clamoring to enlist.

Exactly, seems like all the cheer leading for the war comes from people who fled immediately.

They fight in the posting trenches.

What I've found helpful in making these types of people question their bloodthirsty beliefs, or at least backtrack on them IRL, is to ask them what they would do if they were Ukrainians in Ukraine now, or if they had a home or loved ones there. Even the most rabid ones usually stop after hearing this, if anything because they see how deranged their stance is. I doubt it would make random libs online back down, since shame doesn’t play a big role in anonymous spaces, but still

Yeah, people tend to have a bit more self awareness in person.

This is also a less cliché way of asking, essentially, "so why aren't you on the next flight over there to volunteer?"

A few? Seems to be the majority!

I only spotted five, although some of them wrote a lot of the comments

They want the land without the people. Just imagine how much profits western agricorps can make in Ukraine.

Who's going to work the fields? It won't be Blackrock execs for sure, they'll want local totally-not-slave labor

Of course, but you still need people to drive tractors, to maintain them. To ship and distribute fertiliser, etc
