Ok now I have more questions.

Who is this?

Who is the horse?

What relationship?

How much is the fish?

The My Little Pony character Pinkie Pie (middle) is canonically married to the pony version of "Weird Al" Yankovic (right) who is also voiced by him.

Yeah, super crazy, had to look it up. Al voices a character named "Cheese Sandwich" (ffs Weird Al is amazing), who in a finale is shown years in the future to be married to Pinkie Pie.

Apparently Cheese Sandwich's personality is just... Weird Al. Which is also pretty hilarious.

What's ironic is he was only in 2 episodes, one in season 4 and another in season 9.

Sandwich's*, unless he's a hive mind

[-] realbadat@programming.dev 9 points 10 months ago

No, just forgot the name already and though it was Sandwiches as a last name when I typed it the second time around.

[-] JackbyDev@programming.dev 2 points 10 months ago

Ah. Well then it'd be Sandwiches's

[-] realbadat@programming.dev 1 points 10 months ago

That's one option. But Sandwiches' is valid too, as it ends in an s and is a proper noun, it's not exclusive to plurals. AP style guide for example requires it (and got a lot of flack when 's was proposed as acceptable).

Plus sandwiches itself is a singular noun which is a plural word, so it's s' not s's for most cases there.

Anyway, grammar is weird.

What we really need to know is how to make possessive plurals of proper nouns that are plural but refer to a single thing.

Imagine a club called The Backstreets. Is it The Backstreetses'?

What about how to make plurals of proper nouns that are possessive? Like a restaurant called Your Grandparents'. Is it Your Grandparents'es? What about the possessive plural? AYour Grandparents'es'?

I think it may 100% depend on alcohol and/or THC intake, both of the person writing it and the person reading it. I believe those are the accepted rules as written in both the New York Writing Style Guide and the Chicago Writing Style Guide.

I believe it fits under the section titled As the mood strikes; grammar's mishaps's and bewilderment

[-] BenFranklinsDick@lemmy.world 8 points 10 months ago

I'm okay with this

[-] JackbyDev@programming.dev 22 points 10 months ago

I fucking hate sans serif fonts with l and I looking the same.

[-] Lesrid@lemm.ee 4 points 10 months ago

I just hate sans serif in general, the serifs make me feel cozy because they remind me of printed books

[-] VinesNFluff@pawb.social 18 points 10 months ago

Weird Al stole my waifu

And I'm okay with that.
