Looks more like that was the original color and there was a rug over it. The rest has faded in the 50 years since it was laid down.

[-] Glowstick@lemmy.world 27 points 4 months ago

Yup, I'm quite certain the saturated color area is how the rug originally looked

It looks like the Koolaid Man visited...and that's why that wall is all patched up with mosaic tile print

[-] Duranie@literature.cafe 30 points 4 months ago

That room has a very specific odor that I can't quite describe, but I trust you know it as well.

[-] GreatAlbatross@feddit.uk 6 points 4 months ago

Old carpet, dust, decades of sunlight, and a hint of wood.

[-] Bdtrngl@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago

Don't forget cigarettes.

[-] SzethFriendOfNimi@lemmy.world 29 points 4 months ago

That’s a nasty wine/juice spill.

Blood would look darker. Almost brownish I think.

[-] Death_Equity@lemmy.world 19 points 4 months ago

Almost brownish I think.

Good save, we definitely aren't onto you.

[-] SzethFriendOfNimi@lemmy.world 13 points 4 months ago

I am but a vessel for … uh… my own thoughts

Just remember what Harry taught you and stick to the rules.

[-] Emperor@feddit.uk 14 points 4 months ago

I have an alibi.

[-] kralk@lemm.ee 12 points 4 months ago

I actually love this. Just replace the carpet

[-] delicious_justice@lemmy.world 6 points 4 months ago

The wood ceiling is fantastic!

[-] SoGrumpy@lemmy.ml 8 points 4 months ago

That is where a round shag-pile carpet (probably white) lay.

[-] Zip2@feddit.uk 7 points 4 months ago

It’s missing a magazine rack and a weird sun clock on the wall.

[-] SOB_Van_Owen@lemm.ee 2 points 4 months ago

No macrame? Or string-art?

[-] Zip2@feddit.uk 2 points 4 months ago

Oh man, the string art. I’d forgotten.

I’ve just had a flashback to Canadian Blue Mountain Pottery too, but that might have just been my grandparents.

[-] AceFuzzLord@lemm.ee 7 points 4 months ago

Definitely wouldn't mind being in a house like that, so long as the floor is that reddish stain(?) looking color.

[-] kindenough@kbin.earth 5 points 4 months ago

It is just some tomato sauce officer, we buried the meatball in concrete…

[-] baggins@beehaw.org 4 points 4 months ago

It was like that when I got here vicar sergeant.

[-] weariedfae@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago

I actually really dig whatever is going on with that green wall.

[-] canitendtherabbits@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago

Marsha! Marsha! Marsh—…

[-] Hestia@hexbear.net 2 points 4 months ago

I was making koolaid

[-] asg101@hexbear.net 2 points 4 months ago

I can't recall.

[-] ianovic69@feddit.uk 1 points 4 months ago

Wood paneled ceiling. Why?

[-] vext01@lemmy.sdf.org 3 points 4 months ago

That's not panelling. I guess they cheaped out.

[-] ianovic69@feddit.uk 2 points 4 months ago

Ha yeah I should've said wood effect! It's like a tunnel of doom, leading to the stairs of death.
