It's like when Diane Feinstein said the ATF didn't have the power to ban bump stocks and that it would require Congress to pass her legislation because she wanted credit for solving the issue, and then Clarence Thomas cited that when overturning the ATF's ban on bump stocks
Did you think we lived in a direct democracy or something? This is how it works in this system. They never trusted the peasants.
On one hand this is extremely petty. On the other hand, realistically, that money is going straight to the hospital bill.
