In a recent interview with BlackTree TV, Feige hinted that the forthcoming Blade movie, which is currently dated for 2025, could be rated R.

“There were some great Blade movies years ago — they were all rated R. So I think that’s, like Deadpool, inherent with the character of Blade,” he said at the time. “For the last two years, as we’ve been trying to crack that movie, the most important thing for us is not rushing it and making sure we are making the right Blade movie.”

...

When asked for an update regarding the film, Feige said, “[We’re] taking the amount of time that it needs. And right now, I don’t think there’s a scoop. If there is, it’s all yours. But Eric Pearson, who’s a great, great writer, is working on a draft right now. That is very exciting. Yeah. so, but we won’t get too excited until it’s really all there because Blade’s a very, very important character. Mahershala [Ali] is an amazing actor who walked in one day and said, ‘I think I wanna be Blade.’ And we wanna find the right way to do that.”

It might just be him making excuses for the film's lateness but his comments recently have been consistent, like this other recent one:

It's part of the process. And when you have a character as famous as Blade, and an actor as famous as Mahershala, everything that happens just gets a lot of attention. I'm sure you've heard us talk about, we were struggling finding the perfect reason for Deadpool to exist, for the third Deadpool movie in the MCU, and then Hugh Jackman called, and it fell into place. Sometimes you need that magic thing that falls into place. And sometimes it happens – sometimes it takes a day. Sometimes it takes two years. Sometimes it takes 10 years. But that's what you really should be waiting for, until you make something.

It does sound like they are trying for quality iver quantity. Which would be a nice change.

I think the drop in interest and attendance after Endgame showed that the regular release schedule was hurting the brand. So now he is wary of forcing a movie, which is great. It shows he is learning and wants more superhero movies, as do I, but we both want good movies.

Yeah I think they realize the gravy train is over so they have to be more thoughtful

You've mistaken this for the news that Team America is out in 4k.
