Does Donald Trump understand how

Imma stop you right there

[-] Hazzia@infosec.pub 12 points 3 months ago

Can probably stop a word earlier, even

[-] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 10 points 3 months ago

Really.

You know good and goddamned well he’s a complete shit for brains sociopathic rapist, WaPo. You KNOW this.

And yet. Still. You still write about him as a normal person, who’s just slightly goofy. Re:

We can start by noting that there are nine, not five, known nuclear powers, the sort of thing that former presidents might generally be expected to estimate more precisely.

Oh, quite. Quite. It’s such a confounding thing, his ignorance, isn’t it.

And that’s as hard as they ever hit. Also, no mention of the slurring, which. Of course not.

All indications are that Trump doesn't understand how anything works. That's just not the way his mind is organized. He skates on the surface, focused exclusively on finding things that appear to serve his immediate interests, which are limited to greed, lust and the incessant demands of his insatiable ego.

Well, he thinks that dropping a battery into the ocean electricutes all ocean life - except sharks. So I'm gonna say NO!

[-] Coelacanth@feddit.nu 12 points 3 months ago

Don't forget how magnetism doesn't work under water!

"Can't we just nuke the hurricane?"

[-] friend_of_satan@lemmy.world 16 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

I think Betteridge's Law of Headlines applies here.

Any headline that ends in a question mark can be answered by the word no.

[-] billwashere@lemmy.world 10 points 3 months ago

Anything that starts with “Does Trump understand” is automatically a big NOPE!

Does Donald Trump understand?

FTFY

And no, he doesn’t

[-] queue@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 3 months ago

Betteridge's law of headlines is an adage that states: "Any headline that ends in a question mark can be answered by the word no."

Equally true with anything about Trump's intelligence.

"This is an island sitting in the middle of an ocean. It's a big ocean, it's a very big ocean."

I'd like to see Mar-a-Lago turn into Mar-solo-Mar.

[-] brucethemoose@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

I've driven by Mar-a-Lago, and they key it sits on is almost like a cliff. He's also on the "coastal" side of the key which protects it from the open ocean a little.

It's a ridiculously wealthy area too, so they'll just fix hurricane damage and erosion. TBH it's not something he has to worry about there.

[-] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

Full of water.

[-] magnetosphere@fedia.io 5 points 3 months ago

Before I read the article, my reaction was “well, I don’t understand how the ocean works, either, so maybe this is one of the few things I won’t make fun of him for.”

But we’re not talking about fluid dynamics or complex weather patterns. This is basic, simple Geometry 101 stuff. Yeah, I can and will make fun of him for not understanding it.

[-] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 7 points 3 months ago

You really need to lower your expectations w/r/t trump.

Lower.

Keep going. Lower than that. More.

Low-wer.

This is the same guy who thinks that exercise is bad for you because you only have a finite amount of energy for your entire lifetime, and exercise expenses that energy source.

This is the same guy who managed to run a casino into bankruptcy.

This is the same guy who argued that a 'wall' made of cheap quality steel would secure the border for years to come.

This is the same guy who stared at the Sun during a solar eclipse.

This is the same guy who can't hold a book the right way up at a PR photo shoot.

This is the same guy who has to use both hands to drink from a bottle of water while in a stationary position.

This is the same guy who promoted injecting bleach and using a flashlight inside the body to kill the corona virus.

This is the same guy who kept boxes of highly sensitive national security documents in the bathroom of his personal residency.

This is the same guy that tweeted "covfefe" and left it up there for the world to mock.

This is the same guy who's economic professor said was the dumbest student he'd ever taught in a twenty-odd years.

No. No he doesn't understand the oceans, or anything else.

[-] YurkshireLad@lemmy.ca 4 points 3 months ago

I suppose technically he’s not wrong; it will create more ocean front properties. It’s just that they’ll replace the ones lost to rising sea levels.

[-] SonOfMothman@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago

Wait I thought he liked Nuclear power? Also he didn’t say a god damn thing. I mean words were said, but they don’t amount to anything. “The biggest problem is that I’m not in charge” basically. Who the fuck is voting for this dipshit, he talks like a child.

[-] teamevil@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

He doesn't understand how diapers work

[-] ZombieMantis@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago
[-] norimee@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

Anything that isn't how he expects it, can be changed with a sharpie. Because he's winning at being smart.

[-] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 1 points 3 months ago

No. And if he does, he has a vested interest in forgetting.

Kind of impressive that it grabbed WaPo from within the archive link. Neat trick, bot.

I thought Musk was a climate change guy? I sure hope the broader economy is insulated from the market cap of Tesla. When that stock gets a correction, it's going to be a bloodbath.

[-] brucethemoose@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Musk is a Musk guy.

That narrative benefited him before (because Tesla. Maybe SpaceX in a really weird way). Now it doesn't.

[-] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

Well, yeah, he’s specifically tanking it - for - ? Reasons?
