Prompt: A woman showing off her multiple fingers --ar 4:3 --v 6.1

Theme

It's time to forget all you've learned on how to make believable images and go back to the jankiness of older AI images.
We have all seen it, the weirdness AI can create when you least want to.
But for this week's theme, try to create an image with the AI mistake (extra fingers, weird posture, you name it) as it's main attraction.

Embrace the jank and turn it into something beautiful! :)

A bonus point can be earned by anyone who can make their image without explicitly describing the weirdness they want to see in the prompt. Just like when you don't want to see these kinds of fails.
For example: If you try to create a man with multiple legs, then a man with three legs wouldn't count, but a man running really fast with his legs would.
Consider it an extra challenge to see how well you know your model and if you can push it exactly to the desired breaking point :)

As before, take your time! Some of you can be super fast (me included) and I've noticed that the early bird usually catches the worm. So for this challenge I'm subtracting a point for anyone who posts within 24 hours.

Rules

  • Follow the community’s rules above all else
  • One comment and image per user
  • Embed image directly in the post (no external link)
  • Workflow/Prompt sharing encouraged (we’re all here for fun and learning)
  • Posts that are tied will both get the points
  • The challenge runs for 7 days from now on
  • Down votes will not be counted

Scores

At the end of the challenge each post will be scored:

Prize Points
Most upvoted +3 points
Second most upvoted +2 point
Third most upvoted +1 point
Most original +1 point
AI jank present +1 point
No explicit AI jank instructions in prompt +1 point
Last two entries (to compensate for less time to vote) +1 point
Prompt and workflow included +1 point
Post within 24 hours -1 point

It's a bit of a different challenge, but I hope you'll enjoy it!

The winner gets to pick the next theme. As always, have fun everyone!

A simple one, but very interesting.

The prompt : "Darth vader when he's super happy to see us".

So the "super happy to see us" part might have mislead Midjourney towards the canine category 🐶.

Prompt in unstability.ai: Create a depiction of a break dancing competition

[-] medusa@sh.itjust.works 13 points 2 weeks ago

Hey, ChatGPT. "Please generate an image to coincide with "Giraffic Park"

spoilerImage info card: A whimsical and playful scene titled 'Giraffic Park,' featuring a park where giraffes roam freely, similar to the concept of 'Jurassic Park.' The giraffes are depicted in a lush, jungle-like environment with towering trees, large plants, and a clear blue sky. The giraffes are oversized, towering over the landscape, with some playfully interacting with the environment, like eating leaves from the trees or peeking over the tops of the trees. The park entrance sign, styled similarly to the iconic 'Jurassic Park' logo, reads 'Giraffic Park,' with vines and greenery growing around it. The overall vibe is fun and imaginative, blending the majesty of giraffes with the adventurous feel of a dinosaur-themed park.

I can't stop laughing at the giraffititties

Original prompt: make a 1950 movie poster "night of Moorwen" with moorwen holding a handsome man.

I think AI has a thing for damsels in distress. Not gentleman in distress.

It's struggling so hard to make him fit the mold of victim, but it just can't overcome the tropes.

Prompt (copilot):

giant hornets attacking a beehive

[-] merde@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

i don't remember the prompt but i don't know how to prompt for this either. It was a dead end of a generative branch for something i was working on

[-] cloudless@lemmy.cafe 2 points 1 week ago

This is the most normal out of your work 🤪

[-] Ziggurat@sh.itjust.works 6 points 2 weeks ago

For that one, I went back to SD 1.5. using «Epic diffusion» and Euler ancestral samplers

One man in black suit, with a wedding ring, plays a beautiful piano, in prohibition style speakeasy bar. BREAK BREAK BREAK On the background, a detective with a long coat and a moustache enjoys a fine whisky, 1950's film noir,

P.S Also, no fan of the first 24h penalty, especially when the challenge is posted on the week-end, but here is my contribution anyway, if not I'll forget.

[-] thelsim@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 week ago

I can see why you're no fan of the 24h thing. My reasoning was that the first 24 hours always gets most of the views, and a lot of people vote on whatever image is already posted and don't check back again afterwards.
The idea was to level the playing field a little for those who need a bit more time to post, whether it's because they're not free or because they might be living in a different time zone.

Anyway, like I wrote in my previous challenge, it's an experiment. If you and others think it works better without the 24h rule, then of course we can always change things back to how they were.

[-] merde@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 week ago

@ a flickr group and on a challenge like this one we used to start voting once entries were closed. Voting was done by comments because back then there weren't even 👍 or like buttons.

[-] thelsim@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 week ago

That could be an alternative, but it would make the whole process a lot more involved.

Maybe a new post could be made after the seven days are over with all the entries added as replies for people to vote on? Then after 24 hours a winner can be declared. It would at least give everyone an equal chance as far as exposure to the Lemmy algorithm goes and everyone can submit their entry at their own speed.

  1. Open submission post
  2. Let participants add their entries to the post as replies
  3. Close submission post after 7 days
  4. Create voting post with all entries as replies.
  5. Wait 24 hours
  6. Tally upvotes and other points to declare winner.
[-] cloudless@lemmy.cafe 4 points 1 week ago

I really like this. A lot of work indeed.

[-] WhatsHerBucket@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

I have to agree, since I waited and I’m already behind by 14 points lol

I also see what you’re trying to accomplish. Maybe a bigger penalty? Like -5 points?

[-] thelsim@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 week ago

That would basically be an instant disqualifier, I don't want to kick people out of the challenge altogether.

But I realize this -1 doesn't work that well either when a lot of people post anyway. Maybe the whole upvote system just doesn't work that well.

[-] Ziggurat@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 week ago

I know, there is a kind of "boost" when the thread still pops in the "sort by new feed" . But on the other-hand, especially when challenge starts on the week-end (this one it's a borderline case). Moreover, I also think about that game when I see the thread, not 3 days latter. Sure I could have kept the image, and post-it this morning rather than yesterday night, but feel weirds to do.

[-] bjoern_tantau@swg-empire.de 3 points 1 week ago

I think it would be better to post the images as separate posts and then link them here in comments. Because I certainly forget to check back here regularly for more entries later.

Prompt: a person holding out their hands that have 30 fingers each hand, persons face has an extra eye, mouth upside down, hand coming from shoulder

I really like this, it feels like a promo shot for a tv show or album. Very clean and professional feeling.

Congratulations to @Trollivier@sh.itjust.works for an awesome entry and a very well deserved first place! I really love it, it's just perfect.

And a special mention to @UpUpAndAway@sh.itjust.works for the original misuse of tropes :)

Actually, all of you did great, thanks so much for participating!
