To protect cops from the fentanyl overdosing epidemic, we should dedicate tax dollars to medically supervised opioid tolerance building treatments.

clean needles programs and safe injection sites but just for cops also

I say give them all overdoses to weed out the weak ones.

lol, dae remember that story with that cop found dead, still bent over a desk in the police station having tried to snort a rail of fent before putting it into the evidence lockup, assuming it was blow. and it was like in camera.

I think he was like a sergeant and shit with like decades in, too.

I guess he just assumed he was gonna toot up and handle the security cameras later or that he'd be covered by somebody, but when his ass died there was too much scrutiny about what happened (Officer Down!) to lose the footage.

*EDIT: found it! (CW: spousal abuse). https://www.opb.org/article/2023/11/14/on-duty-overdose-battle-ground-washington-police-sergeant-faced-domestic-violence-claims/

reading the circumstances of the spousal abuse and the wife's obviously intimidated walk-back of her account is legit making me insane. thank god for oregon public media just putting all this asshole's shit and the institution that covered his ass in the street. there's a whole other subplot of him being a piece of shit liar with an internal affairs investigation ignoring complaints.

basically the guy was living and acting with complete impunity and getting covered for by everybody, including IA, until he gave himself a BSOD on the clock, on camera, and died. apparently all the cop worshipping protocols made the cop death trigger too much actual investigating. further, the fact that his employment as an officer ended (because he died) is what triggered some releasing of personnel records to a training division. check it out...

State law requires that any time an officer’s employment ends, the employer must notify the Washington Criminal Justice Training Commission of any alleged misconduct.

all his bullshit would have vanished like a fart, except his employment status changed by dying and some records of his internal issues went out by state law. what a fucking joke.

Lol I remember that. I tried to find the story (briefly) but the search results are either cops making up ODs or stories debunking the alleged ODs
