This article made me so furious. Not only does Disney treat their employees like shit, but they’re actively censoring any kind of queer themes in their movies.

Disney really saw Buzz lightyear do bad at the box office and the only thing they learn from that was

"we need movies with less gay people"

People forget that the majority owners of production/capital in American are out of touch, evil/angry, white men that do not do any form of introspection. Similar takes also occurred when shows like Teen Titans were attractive across more than just one gender but sadly that was bad because most cartoon production houses are owned by companies that think He-Man and the 1970s are still very much alive and kicking (i.e. we market to mono gendered audiences only no matter what the statistics and rating say).

Truly capitalism is the most rational system on this Earth! curious-marx

It's doubly insane after the smash hit that My Little Pony achieved with its crossover audience

Twenty bucks the execs willfully ignore that audience or else the audience is obfuscated to them via their accountants given what a cash cow it's been for Hasbro

I am not being queer phobic but censoring LGBTQ+ themes helps these studios get more money due to the amount of boycotting that's happened to them in places like the Middle East ,they got boycotted even more after October 7th and the Genocide In Gaza but they were losing a lot of Money even before that because too many of their movies were not releasing there and even though Disney does this thing where the LGBT related thing is so inconsequential so that they could delete the scene if they have to and while this method worked for them before ,it is not working anymore, most of the gulf states along with all the Arabic countries refuse to even accept this nowadays , a good example of this is Spider-man Across The Spider Verse (which was awesome btw ,go watch it) where the movie was banned over the trans flag in Gwen's room that says "protect trans kids" which is very hard to notice ,they could've just altered it or removed it but they outright banned the movie

I swear I am not being queerphobic ,I just wanted to state this
