I'd be the ideal old-timey lighthouse operator. I grew up within eyeshot of the north Atlantic, so I have the appropriate respect for the ocean. I know how to safely live by it year-round and I know the dangers those working on it face. And I'm comfortable with my own company so I wouldn't go nuts from the isolation so long as I had a decent stockpile of books.
