Working on it for sure.

[-] SarcastiSnark@lemmyverse.org 1 points 1 year ago

I'm trying. Since boost stopped working. I have been on reddit twice. It's a painful shit experience now and I hate it.

But also. Lemmy isnt quite enough yet. But it's helping me stay off the web more.

FB sucks. Reddit sucks and lemmy isn't itching my need for information.

Oh well. :).

boost started working again for me for some reason

[-] Coreidan@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Not really. I stopped using Reddit and even though I am using lemmy it so far hasn’t been a true replacement. Overall my engagement has gone down hill significantly. I might check lemmy once or twice a day. I used to be on Reddit all day. Ultimately this is better for me overall. Even if I wanted to there just isn’t enough content for lemmy to be a replacement for my Reddit usage.

I’m an Apollo refugee, just don’t want to support what’s inevitably becoming another Facebook type place. Wasn’t sure how well I was gonna be able to switch over until I found the wefwef web app, it’s such a game changer and I’m slowly getting used to how this works

The community reddit had was really good. I hope it is replicated here. I wonder is there is a way to transfer some of the reddit data here?

I'm an old lady and I'm trying, it's a little hard to navigate though, so I would say I spend less time here than I did Reddit, but I am 10 days fully clean from Reddit after a month of weaning. I've also started getting up and moving around more throughout my work day and listening to audiobooks and podcasts.

Both yes and no. Yes the time I used to spend browsing reddit is now spent using lemmy. But the experience is totally different in lemmy. I am a much more active part of the community here whereas I was a lurker at reddit

[-] infamousbelgian@waste-of.space 1 points 1 year ago

Ditched Reddit, never looked back. It's waaaaay better here. Even running my own instance because why not? :)

[-] WowMyNameIsUnique@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

I'll be honest - as much as I hate u/spez after everything that happened in June, I would probably still be using Reddit if not for them outright killing third party apps. Losing Reddit is Fun was one thing, but I will never downloading the official app.

So yeah! Lemmy here we come. Hopefully the community continues to get livelier as time goes on.

[-] Quentinp@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 year ago

Yes i have basically replaced Reddit at this point, other than if google search comes up with something I need.

[-] Auzy@beehaw.org 1 points 1 year ago

I don't have any accounts in reddit anymore. I only browse reddit maybe for 5 mins a day now. I could block reddit without barely noticing at this time

[-] tiny_electron@beehaw.org 1 points 1 year ago

I uninstalled Reddit when Infinity died

[-] KaladinStormblessed@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Yes, not sticking around while it slowly becomes a worse and worse user experience

[-] ShlorpianMafia@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

I only ever go there to check the front page/news now. Lemmy is growing fast, but being decentralized, at the moment it's still easier to catch up on politics and world news using reddit.

[-] TGhost@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

Would be easiers by subscribing to theses communities until they merge in one. You will see more subjects that interest you.

Until the merge, I have different accounts with different orientations.

Actually, if u don't do that, Lemmy is really "hazardous".

[-] echoplex21@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

I browse through brave browser out of spite now hit after downloading Memmy I’ve found myself on Lemmy way more than Reddit. Also feel I contribute a lot more to conversations than I did on Reddit.

[-] meat_glue@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

Already have.

[-] Philo@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

I am but I'm not sure why everyone complaint of ads but still using Reddit doesn't just use Reddit Revancec?

[-] Cyder@lemmy.one 1 points 1 year ago

I prefer Squiggy

[-] victron@lemmy.world 0 points 1 year ago

I already did, during the blackout. I honestly didn't have much hope for things to improve or roll back. Also, in the last month I've seen the communities grow a lot, so I don't miss reddit that much.

[-] pixelPastry@lemmy.world 0 points 1 year ago

I use lemmy occasionally. I do feel the impact of a significantly smaller community though. A lot of the subreddits I would regularly check are not even here. So unfortunately for now, I’m forced to use the official app. Tried the RSS route too, but it seems it would be too expensive for me.

I’m sure the lemmy community will continue to grow, so I’ll stick around.

[-] arghya_333@lemmy.ml 0 points 1 year ago

I didn't get why RSS would be expensive. Are you talking about time expensive?

[-] pixelPastry@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

All the apps I checked asked me subscribe. Couldn’t view anything without it. Maybe I haven’t found a free to use app on iOS.

[-] arghya_333@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

Huh. Feedly and Inoreader have decent free plans though.

(They aren't open source though)

[-] dorron@lemmy.world 0 points 1 year ago

Boost stopped working

This works great

No reason to go anywhere

[-] Deepus@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago

Same here. What app are you using now? Im waiting for boost for lemmy to come out and using Jerboa for now.

I’m pretty close. I still check a few smaller Reddit communities but only when I’m on my pc in the browser. Almost all interacting (posting and comments) is on Lemmy now.

[-] kalayo@sh.itjust.works 0 points 1 year ago

well yeah for the most part but it has been tough as some of my communities have are non existent here or little activity so i still go through old reddit and look at some subreddits.
