It's not unusual to have multiple power cuts a day in Lagos. Anyone who can afford it has a generator

Nigeria has 12,500MW of installed capacity but produces about a quarter of that.

President Bola Tinubu has promised to improve supply by allowing state governments to build their own power plants in a bid to help spur sluggish economic growth.

That really doesn't sound like a realistic solution if the feds can't even afford to keep the power plants running.

I guess the fact that they stopped supplying power to Niger doesn't matter as much now. Tough time to start a war, but Tinubu seems gung ho about it.
